joomplu:433The ECOCENTRE’s most recent building in which various meetings take place. It is an energy-saving building whose walls are made of clay and straw. A high-efficiency biomass stove is used to heat it. Energy is generated by pv modules, and water is heated by solar thermal collectors.

Every third house in the world is built of clay and straw. Such houses are healthy, ecological, and cheaper to build.

It was built in 1901 and is made of wood and stone.

The ecological technologies that are used in this house include: solar-thermal collectors – these use solar energy to heat water and provide hot water from spring to autumn (around 6 months). One flat collector (one metre by two metres) heats 80 to 100 litres of water – the amount that can be accumulated in an average boiler.
